Who am I?

Jeff is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor located in Abilene, TX.  He has been in private practice since 2012.  He worked as a hospital Chaplain with Hendrick Health Systems from 2007-2022 and worked with Hendrick Hospice's Club Courage program since 2015.  Jeff's prior career in ministry has provided opportunities to work with families in a faith context and he sees his therapeutic work as an extension of his ministry.  His own experience of being a parent of children with Type 1 diabetes has prepared him to work with individuals and families grieving the loss of health and functionality.  From 2013-2017, he served as Director of the Youth Substance Abuse Prevention program through Serenity House (a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center) and has a passion for equipping youth and families with resiliency skills to deal with difficult life situations.  He enjoys working with other local non-profit organizations like FaithWorks and Club Courage.  Most recently, he has upgraded his license to be able to offer supervision for therapists in training.  He and his wife, Amelia, have three amazing children.  Mosaic Wellness is part of Jeff's dream to operate a therapy practice that can make a difference in the community and promote health and wellness not just in mental health areas, but holistically.

What is counseling like with me?

Empathy, compassion and kindness are what I strive to exhibit when working with individuals, couples and families. While we may have some moments of heightened emotion, I want to promote the confidence of everyone who sit with me to feel safe in feeling their feelings and having their thoughts. I love this quote from author Dinah Craik:
Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weight thoughts, nor measure words–but pouring them all right out–just as they are chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.
